Several Butler County emergency response personnel are being called as witnesses for the first hearing hosted by the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump.

Local witnesses include Edward Lenz, sergeant with the Adams Township Police Department and commander of the Butler County Emergency Services Unit, and Drew Blasko, patrolman for the Butler Township Police Department.

The three other witnesses being called to the Thursday, Sept. 26, hearing are John D. Herold, lieutenant with the state police, Patrick Sullivan, a former U. S. Secret Service agent, and Ariel Goldschmidt, medical examiner in Allegheny County.

The task force, led by U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th and ranking member Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., has conducted multiple meetings with law enforcement officials and several transcribed interviews, and its members have reviewed thousands of documents relating to the July 13 assassination attempt of Trump at the Butler Farm Show grounds.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Washington, D.C., and the task force will provide information for a livestream of the event.
