Moniteau High School will serve as the host school for the 2008 PMEA District 5 Junior High Band Festival, set for 7 p.m. April 11 in the school auditorium.

The annual event is for student musicians in seventh and eighth grade selected by their band directors.

Host director is Moniteau band director Rita Ferrere. There will be 115 students representing 29 schools from Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties.

Guest conductor will be Mr. Michael Formeck, band director at Slippery Rock Middle School.

Formeck will rehearse with students throughout the day for their formal concert performance in the evening.

Tickets will be sold at the door.

CRANBERRY TWP — Cranberry Mothers of Multiples' annual spring sale featuring children's clothing and equipment is set for 9 a.m. to noon April 12 at the Haine Middle School cafeteria, 1516 Haine School Road.Baked goods and housewares also will be offered.For more information, call Susan Walker at 724-368-9430.

HARMONY — Harmony Museum will celebrate spring April 12 with two German dinners in the museum's Stewart Hall at the center of Harmony's National Historic Landmark District.The buffet will include dandelion salad, asparagus and caramelized onion salad, sauerbraten, pork snitzel, meatballs in mushroom gravy, glazed carrots, German potato salad, spaetzle, red cabbage, potato pancakes and desserts of strudel, pie and cake.Tea and coffee will be available for those who don't bring along their own favorite German beverage.Cost is $13 per person, with proceeds benefiting museum operations.
