11:14 a.m. Saturday — Elizabeth A. Cosme, 30, of Butler is accused of walking a 4-year-old child, who was not wearing pants and was seen crying, on Mackey Avenue, a police report said. She is charged with child endangerment.
8:05 p.m. Sunday — Mark Foran, 46, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after his vehicle struck the rear of another vehicle on New Castle Road near Duffy Road. Helene Abramowitz, 54, of Butler, a passenger in the other vehicle driven by 55-year-old Ira Abramowitz of Butler, suffered a minor injury.In addition to DUI, Foran also was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.5:15 p.m. Saturday — Kenneth Hemphill, 44, of Butler was arrested for DUI after his car traveled over a small embankment and got stuck in the snow along Route 422 at the Lyndora exit. Hemphill also was cited for driving an unsafe speed and careless driving.
6:55 a.m. Monday — An Ohio woman was injured after she apparently fell asleep at the wheel of her car and crashed on Route 422 near Pflugh Road in Franklin Township. The car, driven by Kristen Kropolinsky, 41, of Boardman, became airborne after hitting a guardrail.The car traveled through the air about 150 feet over an embankment before landing and rolling over, police said.Kropolinsky, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Police said she faces a ticket for a lane violation; her car sustained severe damage.Monday — An unknown thief overnight broke into several vehicles on Cooper Road in Winfield Township. Unspecified items were taken from the vehicles that were parked in their owners' driveways. Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and their homes.Jan. 24 — Five female Slippery Rock University students had the sideview mirrors kicked off their vehicles in the parking lot at The Heights Apartments in Slippery Rock Township. Police believe several unknown male suspects committed the vandalism between 12:30 and 1:15 a.m.
Jan. 24 — A Toshiba laptop computer and global positioning system unit were stolen from a truck tractor parked at the T/A truck stop off Interstate 80 in Barkeyville. The unknown thief broke a side window and unlocked the door to get inside the tractor. The theft happened between 9 p.m. Jan. 23 and 7 a.m. Jan. 24.
