Thursday — Someone apparently tried overnight to break into a pair of businesses on Kittanning Street. But no entry was made either at Butler Fabricating or Greco Gas & Welding Supplies.An employee at Butler Fabricating arrived for work and found that a rear door lock had been pried open and another door damaged. The attempted burglary caused an estimated $162 in damage.While officers were investigating that case, employees at Greco Gas & Welding discovered that a fence on their property had been cut. All of the buildings inside the property, however, appeared secured.

8:50 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Vernon E. Yount, 56, of Sligo crashed into a tree, struck an embankment and rolled over along Route 368 in Perry Township. Yount, who was taken to Clarion Hospital with unknown injuries, was cited for careless driving. Perry Township firefighters and Parker Ambulance paramedics assisted police.10:23 a.m. Tuesday — A Rimersburg man was hurt on the job when an International Harvester truck that was backing up hit him as he walked in a construction work zone on Canoe Ripple Road in Beaver Township.Gregory P. Seybert, 53, a state Department of Transportation employee, was taken to Clarion Hospital with unknown injuries. His condition was not known this morning.Scott E. Mills, 42, of Fairmont City, another PennDOT worker, was driving the truck. No charges were filed.
