4:59 p.m. Monday — Two Armstrong County women were arrested for allegedly shoplifting clothing items at the Kmart store in Pullman Square Shopping Center.Charged with retail theft are Erin Dawn Darney, 30, of Ford City and Jenny Rebecca Wolfe, 34, of Kittanning.Police said the store's closed circuit television system caught the women in the children's department putting clothes —worth a combined $118 — in their purses.

Tuesday — Police reported that James A. Evans, 24, of Butler is suspected of trying to steal scrap metal July 16 from property on Shaffner Road. Evans is charged with attempted theft and conspiracy. Police have not identified Evans' alleged accomplice in the crime.

6:25 p.m. Sunday — David C. Ruffaner, 60, of Worthington, Armstrong County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 at Mitchell Hill Road in Summit Township.Police noted that a portion of Route 422 was closed due to a serious crash when Ruffaner drove past flares and emergency workers directing him to stop.6:07 p.m. Sunday — Two people were injured when the driver of a tractor-trailer cut off a car on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Megan Flechaus, 16, of Brockport, N.Y., lost control of the car and crashed into a ditch.Flechaus and a passenger, Katherine Flechaus, 44, of Woodstock, N.Y., suffered minor injuries.The driver of the rig drove away but was later stopped at the Edinboro exit. Police did not identify the driver, who was cited for making an illegal lane change and driving with an expired trailer registration.10:10 p.m. Thursday — Several unknown thieves made off with an orange traffic cone and a sign taken from outside the McDonald's restaurant at Clearview Mall in Center Township.Police said the suspects, a group of six white males, had eaten at the McDonalds and took the property when they left. The suspects left in two pickup trucks.

Tuesday — Unknown thieves cut off and stole the catalytic converters of three vehicles parked at Super 8 motel on Route 208 in Springfield Township. The thefts occurred between 11 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday6:30 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Molly L. Wimer, 22, of Slippery Rock crashed into a ditch on Airport Road in Pine Township. Wimer suffered a minor injury.

Tuesday — Someone smashed several mailboxes along Old Ash and Burns roads, Camp Elliott Lane and Route 168 in Plain Grove and Washington townships.

6:36 p.m. Tuesday — Troopers arrested Gloria Jean Cravener, 44, of Kittanning, who was wanted by Butler police on a warrant for felony retail theft.Butler police on Friday charged Cravener and her daughter, Tammy Lynn Cravener, 25, of Kittanning for attempting to steal a television from the Pullman Square Kmart store on July 7.Cravener was arraigned on the retail theft charge, and placed n the Butler County Prison on $30,000 bond.6:35 p.m. Aug. 6 — Someone entered the home at 1741 Ford City Road in North Buffalo Township and took several items between July 11 and Aug. 8.
