Brown

Robert E. Brown, 83, a lifelong resident of West Sunbury, passed away the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024.

Born on Dec. 18, 1940, in West Sunbury, he was the son of the late Ronald Johnston and Hazel Brown.

He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and retired from Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad after 31 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. He lived for driving tractors and mowing hay on the farm.

Bob is survived by his two daughters, Christine (Donald) Stewart and Tina Porter, both of West Sunbury; three stepdaughters, Lea (Rick) Stalker of Hilliards, Kelley (Tom) Carr of Boyers and Lisa Padilla of Texas; and two stepsons, Scott Reges of Eau Claire and Billy (Julie) Reges of Emlenton. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Nikki Brown, Melissa Marburger, Megan Confer, Derek Stewart and Amber Overly; 14 great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Don) Kelly of Bruin; one brother, Kirby (Cassie) Johnston of West Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy A. (Wyant) Brown; his second wife, Kathyrn (Hughes) Brown; his son, David Brown; his grandson, Billy Brown; one sister; and two brothers.

BROWN — Family and friends of Robert E. Brown, who died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, will be received for visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark S. Davis, HR, officiating.

Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
