Man dies after tree-trimming accident in Scrubgrass Township
A man identified as Ryan Brown was killed in an accident on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 26, while trimming a tree on Big Bend Road in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County.
Venango County Coroner Cristina Rugh described the cause of death as “blunt force and crushing trauma to the chest,” as a result of equipment he was using to trim trees falling on top of him.
Trevor Hile, chief of the Emlenton Fire Department, said they were dispatched to the scene at 3:23 p.m. Thursday, along with the Emlenton Area Ambulance Service.
The Pennsylvania State Police’s Franklin station currently is investigating the accident, and a representative from Franklin told the Butler Eagle more information will be forthcoming.
