1 a.m. today - A tractor-trailer driven by Clarence Hatfield, 64, of Cosby, Tenn., struck a utility pole at the Home Improvement Center parking lot near Negley Avenue. The crash snapped off the top of the pole and caused about 200 Allegheny Power customers to temporarily lose power.8:54 p.m. Monday - John Hayden Jr., 21, of Clay Township was arrested after leading police on a brief but high-speed chase on North Main Street Extension.An officer doing a speed check along the North Main Street hill clocked Hayden going about 48 mph in a 25 mph posted zone. Hayden sped off when he saw the officer take pursuit with the cruiser's emergency lights and siren on, police said.Hayden allegedly passed several vehicles while speeding in the northbound lane. Police were able to stop Hayden's car near Evans Road.He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, speeding, driving too fast for conditions and reckless driving.
9:49 p.m. Sunday - Vehicles driven by Denise Novak, 42, of Harmony and Erika Rost, 17, of Renfrew collided at North Main Street and Grandview Avenue.
7:55 a.m. Tuesday - An unknown thief reportedly took an undisclosed amount of aluminum siding from a house on Harrisville Road in Worth Township, Mercer County. Keith Gadsby of Stoneboro owns the house.
