Refs flag play for unnecessary roughness
A Butler Senior High School football player was taken to a hospital following a play that was flagged for unnecessary roughness Friday night, Sept. 27, at an away game against Connellsville Area High School.
Brian White, superintendent of Butler Area School District, said Monday morning that referees flagged the Connellsville team for unnecessary roughness in the play where the Butler student was injured.
The student was injured and taken to a hospital following the play.
White said the school district’s athletic director, Bill Mylan, was involved in following up on the Friday incident.
Mylan was not immediately available.
