Extension to hold virtual equine workshop on hay

Penn State Extension will hold a two-session webinar titled Horse Hay Workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on two upcoming dates.

The sessions, on Monday, Oct. 7, and Wednesday, Oct. 9, are designed for horse owners, farm managers and horse hay producers who are interested in learning more about equine clients’ needs.

The first session will include information on how producers make hay and safe hay storage, as well as practical advice on buying and selling hay.

The second session will cover how hay and hay analysis fit into a horse’s nutrition plan, how mold and toxic plants can affect horses, and sugars in hay.

Those planning to participate must register by 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7, to receive the link to the webinar. The registration fee is $10.

Those who register will receive a recorded version of the webinars 10 business days after the live event. The recorded version will be available for six months after the live event.

More information and registration is available at extension.psu.edu/horsehay2024.
