Flukas

Daniel Richard Flukas, 78, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024.

He was born in Pittsburgh on Sept. 25, 1945. Daniel received a Bachelor of Science degree in education in the summer of 1967 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also received a Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University in the fall of 1985. On May 1, 1971, he married Karen Joyce Hayden in Greensburg.

Daniel served two years in the Army, primarily as a motor platoon officer, and later as an executive officer, assigned to Company C of the 23rd Infantry Regiment (M*), 2nd Infantry Division, while stationed in Korea.

After leaving Korea, he served as company supply officer at Fort Bragg, N.C. Daniel worked as a personal generalist at Slippery Rock State College in Pennsylvania and as the employee benefits coordinator at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. Daniel held a position as a public administrator with the Arizona state government.

Daniel is survived by his brothers, Phillip Flukas, John Flukas and Robert (Denise) Flukas.

He was preceded death in by his wife, Karen Joyce Flukas.
