David C. Thomas, 61, of Espyville, formerly of West Sunbury, died Monday morning at his home.

Born in Butler on Feb. 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Charles and Betty Timblin Thomas.

He had worked at Pullman Standard and Armco, now AK Steel, in Butler, and he was a self-employed carpenter.

Dave was a talented musician who wrote music and had been a lead singer in a rock band. He enjoyed fishing and his dogs.

Surviving are his wife, Anita Linn Thomas, who he married on April 1, 1987; two sons, Seth and Josh Thomas of Colorado; a stepson, Lee Heller (Holly) of Renfrew; two stepdaughters, Lisa and Lynette Heller, both of Butler; a sister, Charlene Ritchy of Butler; and his grandchildren, Abbie, Allysa, Jared, Logan and Olivia.

THOMAS — Friends of David C. Thomas, who died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, are invited to a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at the

McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars. The Rev. Marshall Lilly, chaplain of the Crawford County Hospice, will officiate.
