Raymond Sarver

Sarver

Raymond Calvin “Cal” Sarver, 77, of Butler, lost his courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease and cancer on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at 5:05 a.m., at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Raymond was born Aug. 7, 1947, in Butler. He was the son of the late William Murphy and Dolly (McKissick) Sarver.

Raymond worked for Pullman Standard until its closing, and for T.W. Phillips for 30 years. He was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family. In his younger years, he spent many hours on the golf course, and in retirement, he enjoyed spending his days on the tractor maintaining his lawn. Raymond was a member of the Butler Community Alliance Church.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Sarvey Sarver, whom he married Nov. 11, 1971; one daughter, Kelly (Michael) Savannah; and two grandchildren, Nico and Gianna Savannah. He also is survived by his siblings, John Sarver, Ed (Connie) Sarver and Ralph (Diane) Sarver, all of Butler, Ron (Jill) Sarver of Arizona, and Dolly (Mickey) Rubin of New Castle; and his numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

SARVER — Family and friends of Raymond Calvin “Cal” Sarver, who died Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. at the SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service, with Keith Kozik officiating, will immediately follow in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Parkinson's Exercise program at the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St., Butler, PA 16001. His time in the program meant so much to him both physically and mentally. Our hope is to continue to promote hope and courage for all those battling Parkinson’s disease.
