Dozens remain without power

Over 100 homes and businesses in the county remain without electrical service Monday due to damage from a series of storms Sunday night.

About 98 customers of West Penn Power in the area of Cooper’s Lake Event Venue and Campground and Moraine State Park in Muddy Creek Township and the West Liberty area of Brady Township remained without power around 9 a.m. Monday.

A handful of Central Electric Cooperative customers in West Liberty and Worth Township also were without power.

West Penn Power crews are working to remove trees that fell on power lines and repair the power lines that fell during a series of storms that impacted the area Sunday night, said spokesman Todd Meyers. Power is expected to be restored by 10 p.m.

About 1,000 West Penn Power customers were initially left without electrical service during the storm, Meyers said.
