Niche, a research company that produces an annual ranking of colleges and universities has ranked Slippery Rock University No. 4 among public schools and first in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education.

Niche ranked SRU behind the University of Pittsburgh, Penn State University and Temple University on the list of 2025 Top Public Universities in Pennsylvania.

The research company based its results on an analysis of academic, admissions, financial and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education, along with reviews from students and alumni.
