Faith

Lloyd Allen “Jake” Faith died Monday, Oct. 7, 2024. Jake's death was caused by a glioblastoma that was discovered in April 2024. Thank you for the many prayers that were said for him during this time in his life.

Jake was born in Natrona Heights on Sept. 21, 1951, and lived in the same home in the Freeport area all of his life. His parents were Lloyd M. “Jake” Faith and Dorothy Stephens Faith of Freeport.

Jake was a 1970 graduate of Freeport High School. His continued education included various trades.

Jake proudly served active duty in the Navy, followed by the Reserve, from February 1973 to July 1978.

Jake worked many jobs in his life. Most of Jake's working years were as a coal miner in multiple locations and positions.

Jake was blessed with and appreciated his many local lifetime friends.

Jake was an active member of the Coolspring Power Museum for over 40 years. He gave his all for a smooth-running event as field coordinator for the gas engine shows and flea markets held at Coolspring, Pa., twice a year. He loved working on the antique engines, and he loved the wonderful people associated with the engine world. These people were his extended family. Jake's extended family was make up of people all over the United States and beyond. He enjoyed shows and camaraderie in many locations; some of the locations were Portersville, Brownsville, Pa., Sistersville, W.Va., Ashtabula, Ohio, Lebanon, Pa., and several annual events through the Florida Flywheelers. So many people counted on him for his knowledge of things associated with the antique engine world and his sense of humor.

Jake loved the people around him. He often said, “It doesn't cost anything to be nice.” Every year, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, he sent singing Christmas cards. Last year he sent over 1,260. He was informed by three friends that he forgot to call them with his card. Jake will be missed.

He is survived by his sister, Jayne Boarts; and his nephew, Jesse Boarts, and Jesse's family, wife, Sarah, and sons, Luke and Logan.

Thank you to all the caregivers at the VA, Worthington Family Practice, Shadyside Hospital, Hillman Cancer Center, Encompass Rehab, Butler VNA, Quality Life Services — Sarver and Three Rivers Hospice who touched his life.
