County adds more money to municipal infrastructure projects

Ten municipal and water and sewer authority infrastructure projects got a funding boost of over a million dollars from the county Wednesday.

The commissioners voted Wednesday to distribute an additional $1.085 million to the projects. The additional allocations push the county’s total investment from federal American Rescue Plan funds to $14.4 million.

For Butler Township, funding for a sanitary sewer and water line extension project in the Arlington Avenue area was increased by $100,000 for a new total award not to exceed $764,000.

Cranberry Township will receive an additional $250,000 for a new award not to exceed $914,000 for watershed restoration in the Glen Eden neighborhood.

Donegal Township was given an additional $25,000 for a new award not to exceed $86,181 for a road improvement project on Waltman Road.

Evans City was granted a $60,000 increase for a new award not to exceed $588,320 for a stormwater project.

Harmony will receive an additional $25,000 for a new award not to exceed $762,995 to address stormwater along Spring Street and Old Little Creek Road.

Jackson Township will receive an additional $50,000 for a new award not to exceed $1.15 million to address stormwater flooding on German Street.

Zelienople will receive an additional $75,000 for a new award not to exceed $540,334 for stormwater collection on High and Main streets.

The Petroleum Valley Regional Water Authority will receive an additional $100,000 for a new award not to exceed $850,000 to develop a new water plant.

The Saxonburg Area Authority received an additional $250,000 for a new award not to exceed $914,000 for a sewage project.

The Western Butler County Authority will receive an additional $150,000 for a new award not to exceed $518,000 to extend sewage and stormwater service to the Abbey Woods neighborhood.
