County to contribute to Southwestern Butler County EMS Alliance in effort to address staffing issues
The county commissioners have agreed to contribute up to $38,000 to an effort seeking solutions to funding and staffing issues impacting Butler County emergency medical services.
The commissioners Wednesday, Oct. 9, approved working with eight municipalities and two EMS providers in the recently formed Southwestern Butler County EMS Alliance to complete a study that leaders hope will find ways to address the current limitations of the EMS providers.
Cranberry Township is leading the effort and working with Evans City, Harmony, Seven Fields and Zelienople along with Jackson, Forward and Lancaster townships, and Cranberry Township EMS and Harmony EMS
Following the recommendation of the other municipalities, Cranberry Township agreed to hire Robb Consulting to look into the EMS issues for $47,600. The eight municipalities have agreed to contribute $1,200 each.
