Clarence F. Ebner, 90, of Mars died Friday evening at UPMC Passavant hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Munhall, April 6, 1919, he was the son of the late George W. and Ruth Ford Ebner.

Clarence was a retired music teacher for the Mars School District.

He had been the organist and choir director for the Mars United Presbyterian Church and belonged to Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople.

He was a sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Mars VFW Post 7505. He also belonged to the John E. Mair Lodge 729 F&AM.Surviving are two daughters, Blanche Louise Schellhaas and her husband, Roger, of Green Valley, Ariz., and Jane Ebner of Mars. He was the grandfather of Sheri Hartman, Karen Fielding and Dee Rowley. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by Blanche Blose Ebner, who he married Dec. 9, 1944, and who died Oct. 26, 2008; and also by a brother, Howard Ebner.

<B>EBNER </B>— A memorial service for Clarence F. Ebner, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, in the Park United Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. The Rev. Robert B. McCrumb II and Rev. Herb Goetz will officiate.Memorials may be made to the organ funds of either the Park U.P. Church or the Mars U.P. Church.Arrangements are under the direction of the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home Inc.</B>, Mars; and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
