Tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein approaching
The Butler Musical Theatre Guild is presenting “Some Enchanted Evening: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein,” on Oct. 18, 19, and 20 at Butler County Community College’s Succop Theater.
This musical celebration will feature beloved songs from the legendary duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. 2023 marked 80 years since the first production of “Oklahoma!,” which paved the way for many of the world’s most popular musical theater productions.
“Some Enchanted Evening” includes timeless songs from “Oklahoma!,” “South Pacific,” “State Fair,” “The Sound of Music,” “Carousel,” “The King and I,” “Flower Drum Song” and more, showcasing the best of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s iconic work.
The cast of eight features Phillip Ball, Jeff Carey, Mara Flannery, Jaycie Frye, Heather Helsel, Robin Kriley, Rik Medic and Eric Snyder. The show is produced by Barb Osche, directed by Larry Stock and Karen O’Donnell is music director.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 and 19, and at 3 p.m. Oct. 20. Tickets can be purchased online at mtgbutler.org or by calling 724-287-8243. Tickets will also be available at the door.
