Gary Beers, of Herman, born on Jan. 28, 1943, in Natrona Heights to the late Clarence and Grace (Wright) Beers, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

He graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1961 and pursued a degree in electronics at DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago. Following his graduation, Gary began his career at Grumman Aircraft in Bethpage, N.Y., where he contributed to groundbreaking work in the aerospace industry.

In 1966, Gary married the love of his life, Fran Constantine, on Sept. 4. Shortly after, they moved to Houston, where Gary took on a pivotal role in the space program, working with Grumman for over 12 years. One of his proudest achievements was contributing to the development of the lunar module that landed on the moon. During their time in Houston, Gary and Fran welcomed their two children, Jeff and Carrie, into the world.

In 1978, Gary and his family returned to Pennsylvania to be closer to family and friends. He continued his career, ultimately retiring from Curtis Industries in 2005. A man devoted to his loved ones, Gary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and being an active member of St. Mary's Church in Herman.

Gary leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Fran Constantine Beers; his children, Jeff (Missy) Beers and Carrie (Jason) Curtis; his cherished grandchildren, Bailey and Colby Beers; and great-grandson, Carter. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence “Bud” Beers, and his wife, Grace; his sister, Janet Wolfe; and his in-laws, Frances and Joseph Constantine.
