Paula Baptiste Floyd, 62, of Butler, passed away at her residence on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, while under the care of AHN Hospice.

Born on March 16, 1962, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Marilyn (Campbell) Stephenson.

Paula graduated from Butler High School in 1980. She worked for the Butler Area School District as a teacher, until her retirement in 2022. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she worked as the music director for the Crossfire Campus. She was also a member of the Musical Theatre Guild of Butler. Paula enjoyed singing, crafting, rescuing dogs, eating at new restaurants, spending time with her loving family and playing with her beautiful grandbabies.

Paula is survived by her husband, Carl M. Floyd, whom she married on July 1, 2017; her son, Nicholas S. Baptiste; her daughter, Fontine M. Pedersen (Karl); her stepson, Logan M. Floyd; her granddaughter, Rakel D. Pedersen; and her grandson, Remy S. Pedersen.

In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by an infant brother.

FLOYD — A visitation for Paula Baptiste Floyd, who died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at First United Methodist Church Crossfire Campus, 1802 N. Main St. Extension, Butler.

A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the Crossfire Campus with Pastor David Janz officiating.

A private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paula's memory to the Lighthouse Foundation, P.O. Box 366, Bakerstown, PA 15007, or to the Musical Theatre Guild of Butler, P.O. Box 2001, Butler, PA 16003-2001.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
