Fantastique plays next at Butler symphony concert

Butler County Symphony Orchestra will present the passion and drama of composer Hector Berlioz's “Symphonie Fantastique” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in Butler Intermediate High School’s auditorium.

Internationally renowned cellist Alexander Dimitrov is the featured soloist, and the performance is presented by the McKinney Charitable Foundation. Dimitrov will play highlights from Sergei Prokofiev's “Sinfonia Concertante in E minor.”

Also returning for a second performance is guest conductor Moon Doh, associate conductor with the Pittsburgh Symphony. Doh is one of three finalists in the selection of music director and conductor of the Butler symphony. Patrons are asked for their feedback on each performance as part of the selection process.

Reserved seat tickets are available online for $30 for adults and $10 dollars for children and students. Remaining tickets are sold at the door for $35 for adults and $12 for children and students.
