Patricia S. VanDyke, 95, of Butler, passed away at Lowrie Place on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024.

Born Aug. 5, 1929, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Snider and Mary (Prindle) Snider.

Patricia was a member of Connoquenessing United Methodist Church. She previously worked at the Evans City Drug Store and as a bookkeeper in Butler. Patricia loved to dance and constantly ran her sons around for swimming practice and meets. She was known for making old fashioned buckwheat cakes for her family and the swim team during the winter months. Patricia loved babies so much, that being able to take care of her grandchildren and make them mashed potatoes brought her so much joy.

Patricia leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Mark E. VanDyke (Cindy) of Shippenville and Stephen B. VanDyke (Robin) of Evans City; her daughter, Cathy VanDyke Williams (Fred) of Connoquenessing; her daughter-in-law, Linda Sahli VanDyke; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, David A. VanDyke, who passed away on May 22, 2023; four sisters; five brothers; her son, David L. VanDyke; and her granddaughter, Jennifer VanDyke.

VANDYKE — The family of Patricia S. VanDyke, who died Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, will hold a celebration of life at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
