Harris’ plan doesn’t add up

Vice President Kamala Harris is shouting from the highest rooftops that no one who makes under $400,000 will pay “more taxes.” In recent sit-down interviews, Harris was asked how she was going to pay for $25,000 for new homebuyers, $6,000 for new babies, $3,600 per child tax credit, and a $50,000 tax reduction on new businesses. Harris repeatedly said she would force the rich to pay their “fair share.”

According to the National Taxpayer’s Union, the top 5% pay more than 65% of federal income taxes.

What Harris doesn't say is that multimillion dollar businesses and corporations will pass those tax hikes onto the public in the form of higher consumer prices. Higher prices that Harris calls price gouging, which she promises to control.

Let’s get real. If the government confiscated all the wealth of every billionaire it wouldn't put a dent in the national debt.

I believe price controls and raising taxes on the top 25% of income makers would cripple the economy by disrupting supply and demand of products produced and sold, resulting in shortages and even higher prices than we have now.
