Robert C. Bittner

Robert C. Bittner, 86, of Mars passed away Friday morning in UPMC Passavant Cranberry.

He was born March 28, 1924, in Wilkinsburg to the late Joseph and Roberta Vanryn Bittner.

He worked as a truck driver for Artim Trucking in Zelienople. He was of the Protestant faith. He was an avid hunter and belonged to the NRA.

Mr. Bittner served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Mars VFW Post 7505 and Mars American Legion Post 787.

He is survived by three sons, Robert of Mars, Dale of Callery and Carl and his wife, Karen, of Sarver; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hiles Bittner, who died May 17, 2008, two brothers and one stepsister.

<B>BITTNER — </B>Relatives and friends of Robert C. Bittner, who died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the <B>a. carl Kinsey-Ronald n. volz funeral home</B> in Evans City. Funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. Brian Swan officiating.The family suggests memorial donations be made to Christian Appalachian Projects, P.O.
