In her yearlong tenure as events manager at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park, Brittany Undercuffler has found that many people who live in the area have not been to the park.

The second annual Halloween Bash on Sunday, Oct. 20, was an attempt to change that.

Alexa Zieja, of Butler, visited the field for the first time Sunday, with her two children, who dressed in their Halloween costumes as they roamed around the baseball diamond.

“It’s awesome,” Zieja said of the event.

Undercuffler said this year’s Halloween Bash was a step up from last year’s, with the addition of more craft vendors, a live band and the availability of tattoos and piercings on site.

Undercuffler said she has been trying to organize more frequent events at the park, because it is in the process of getting some necessary renovations, including new field turf, HVAC repairs and roof maintenance. She added that the field is not taxpayer funded, so it needs to raise money on its own to stay afloat and pay for repairs.

“My goal in event planning is to help bring people here so we can raise money,” Undercuffler said. “That’s the idea is bringing people here because a lot of people tell me they have never been here before.”
