The following items were collected from the state police, Butler:

State Police, Butler

Sept. 16 — James A. Westerman Jr., 48, of Cabot, was charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault and terroristic threats related to an Aug. 17 road rage incident on West Main Street in Saxonburg. Police said Westerman got out of his vehicle and approached a 17-year-old stopped in a vehicle behind his. Police said Westerman yelled at the teen, spit on their face through an open window and then threatened to shoot them.

Sept. 16 — Keith A. Wellman, 43, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a Sept. 15 domestic dispute on Green Street in Chicora. Police said Wellman repeatedly whipped his wife with a belt causing multiple welts.

7 p.m. Sept. 15 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 422 in Summit Township. Police said David J. Cope, 18, of Vandergrift, was cited for speeding after he drove off the road, hit a traffic sign, hit an embankment and flipped his vehicle onto its roof. Police said Cope was treated by EMS at the scene for a suspected minor injury, but he did not go to a hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Sept. 13 — Jamie A. Green, 50, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor impersonation of a public servant related to an Aug. 25 incident in Connoquenessing Township. Police said Green followed someone home and told them their taillight was out, claiming he was an off-duty state trooper in the process.

Sept. 9 — Rebecca K. Wardlow, 52, of Trafford, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Aug. 3 single-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Police said they found alcohol and a vape pen in her purse while investigating the scene, and a later blood test showed her blood alcohol content at 0.097% and the presence of marijuana in her system. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Sept. 12 — Timothy J. Strain, 47, of Butler, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of making false statements during a gun sale Oct. 4, 2023, from Rural King in Center Township. Police said Strain failed to note his criminal history.

Sept. 12 — Caitlyn M. Demko, 20, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of evading arrest and disorderly conduct related to a Sept. 11 report of a woman drunk and wandering the Clearview Mall parking lot in Center Township. Police said as they investigated, Demko screamed and ran from them.

Sept. 11 — Jeffrey D. Stouffer, 36, of Kittanning, was charged with misdemeanor theft related to a July 4 incident at a Summit Township business. Police said Stouffer stole a wallet from the business’s office.

Sept. 11 — Roger J. Karnes, 62, of Lyndora, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI and false identification related to an Aug. 31 traffic stop on Center Avenue, Butler Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and Karnes later refused to have his blood tested. Police said they later discovered that Karnes gave them a false name throughout their investigation.

Sept. 11 — Kirk A. Gibson, 28, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a June 15 traffic stop on Route 422 in Butler Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.125%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
