Theodore Heberling
Theodore “Ted” Paul Heberling, 82, of Woodstock, Ga., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, in Woodstock, Ga.
Ted was born March 17, 1942, in Butler, to Max and Eleanor (Butler) Heberling.
After graduating from Butler High School in 1960, Ted earned his metallurgical engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1965. He began his career as a co-op with Armco in 1961, working for one year in Butler, then transferring to the international division of Armco in Middletown, Ohio. Ted traveled the world extensively while working in specialty steel sales, including living in Italy for three years and learning Italian! He retired from Armco but continued his career for six more years in international sales with Avesta-Sheffield in Illinois.
Ted later moved to Stoneybrook Golf & Country Club in Sarasota, Fla., where he enjoyed playing his passion, golf, and lived for 23 years. Ted played an active role as a member of the board at Stoneybrook and was instrumental in many projects and improvements at the club. In 2015, he was honored as Member of the Year.
He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Patty (Tarcha) Heberling; his daughter, Traci (Todd) Matthews of Austin, Texas; his daughter, Kristin (Jeff) Sickeler of Woodstock, Ga.; brother, Tom (Nancy) Heberling of Ohio; sister, Susan Heberling (Lamar Bliss) of New York; grandsons, Tanner (Shannon) Guinther of Atlanta, Brennan (Savanah) Guinther of Woodstock, Ga., and Landon (Autumn) Guinther of New York; six great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Tritton, Asher, Remi, Canaan and Selah; along with numerous nephews and a niece.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Eleanor Heberling.
