Giant Eagle recalling poppy seed, apricot logs
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle supermarket chain is recalling two bakery products saying a milk allergen was not listed on the products’ label.
That means people with milk allergies could become ill if they eat the Market District Apricot Logs and Poppy Seed Logs that were sold individually through the chain’s bakeries.
The logs had “sell by” dates of Nov. 7 to Nov. 17.
The chain says 460 of the mislabeled logs were sold at its Giant Eagle and Market District stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio and West Virginia. So far, nobody has reported becoming ill from the products.
Customers can return the products to the stores for a full refund. The products remain safe for those who don’t have milk allergies.
