Hoffman 100th birthday

Margaret Hoffman, of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, will celebrate her 100th birthday at 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at an open house with family and friends at St John's Reformed Church, 493 Evans City Road, Butler.

The former Margaret Chaney was born on Nov. 10, 1924, in Washington, Pa.

She married W. Eugene Hoffman on Aug. 30, 1947, at East Buffalo Presbyterian Church, in Washington, Pa. He is deceased.

Hoffman has two children, Larry Hoffman of Butler, and Sharon Reed, deceased.

She also has five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was a home economics supervisor and teacher.

She has been a member of St. John's Reformed Church for 70 years, having been a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, youth leader and elder of the Church.

She is a member of Mount Chestnut Woman's Club, Butler County Home Economics Association, Christian Endeavor, Kiwanis, Pennsylvania School Retirees, United Commercial Travelers and four bowling leagues.
