Noonan promoted to head of Cranberry Eagle Advertising Department

Don Noonan recently was promoted to the director of advertising at the Cranberry Eagle Hunter Muro/Butler Eagle

Don Noonan always has had the ability to take on new challenges throughout his career, and his latest chance to tackle something fresh came at an opportune time.

Noonan received news in mid-September that he would be promoted to director of advertising at Cranberry Eagle following the retirement of Jill Paschl, marking another proud accomplishment for the experienced 62-year-old.

“It feels pretty good, but it’s sort of bittersweet with Jill leaving,” he said. “I’ve been here for five years now. I was sort of looking for a new challenge, and this sort of fits right in with that.”

After five years as an account executive learning the ins outs of daily work the Cranberry Eagle, he has a firm grasp of what tactics work when it comes to speaking with both new and familiar clients.

“I think the coverage that we have in our paper is fantastic,” he said. “We’re almost at 19,000 homes on a weekly basis, and we’re bringing a lot of news to the community. People really can’t get that news in other places that we provide so they’re looking at the physical edition of the Cranberry Eagle or going to the website.”

Meanwhile, Paschl said she greatly appreciated her time with the publication and knows that it will be in capable hands moving forward.

“It's been a pleasure working with everyone at the Cranberry Eagle and Butler Eagle for the final few years of my long newspaper career,” she said. “I'm proud of the work we have done and our connection to the local people and businesses. So many communities no longer have a local newspaper, and the Cranberry Eagle has been fortunate to have the support of the wonderful people in our community. I'm so glad that Don Noonan will be taking my place at the Cranberry Eagle. Don has years of newspaper experience and will do a great job.”
