The leaves have started falling, and residents soon will need a place to dispose of them safely.

Beginning Saturday, Butler residents can dispose of their fallen leaves at Memorial Park. A designated area will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends and holidays.

Signs will direct visitors to the leaf dumping area. Only leaves can be dumped there, not other garbage. The area will be open for leaf dumping through the second week of December.
