William Lutz, 81, of Nevada, formerly of Zelienople, died June 28 in Nevada.

Born Jan. 3, 1926, in Harmony, he was the son of Henry and Leona Dunmire Lutz.

He had been a police officer in Zelienople, and he loved the outdoors and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, June Lutz; four sisters, Violet Curry and Bonalea Peffer, both of Zelienople, Shirley Nemeth of Nevada and Joann Kirker of Zelienople; and a brother, Jack Lutz of Harmony.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
