To celebrate the opening of their new Butler office, the Concordia Visiting Nurses will host an open house from noon to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the office, 1312 N. The Butler Outdoor Club is seeking nominations of individuals or groups for its annual Outstanding Contribution Award.The award recognizes enthusiasts, educators or environmentalists who promote the environment.The winner and four finalists will be honored with a cash award for their organization during a dinner on Nov. 13.Nominations should include specific information about the nominee's activities and why he or she should be recognized.Nominations can be sent to the Butler Outdoor Club, P.O. The Baltimore Life Companies are now accepting applications from non-profit organizations in Butler County for $500 grants.Special consideration will be given to projects and programs that deal with family, safety and community issues.Grant applications are due Oct. 8 and are available online at www.baltlife.com/site/a_grants.html. Applications are also available at the regional office at 127 Oneida Valley Road.
