Today marks deadline for mail-in ballot applications
Today, Tuesday, Oct. 29, is the last day Butler County residents can request a mail-in ballot for the Nov. 5 general election.
Voters who wish to fill out an application for a mail-in or absentee ballot must request the ballot at their county elections office (open through 4:30 p.m.) or online by 5 p.m.
Mail-in ballots can be returned via the mail or dropped off at the Butler County Election Bureau, 227 W. Cunningham St., Butler.
Office hours at the Butler election office are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday through Election Day, but on Election Day, the office is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A drive-through, drop-off location will also be available outside the office through Election Day. This is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, including Election Day. Voters are only permitted to return their own ballot at the drive-through.
Those with completed authorization forms to return a ballot on behalf of someone who is physically unable to do so must return that ballot inside at the elections bureau counter.
Voters must follow the instructions provided on the mail-in ballot for the vote to be counted.
