Sprankle’s Neighborhood Markets

“I am new to the world of grocery markets, other than myself being a food shopper for my wife and daughter. My background is in event coordinating and working for a church as director of music and liturgy.

“You might ask yourself how does one make the jump to working for a community grocery market from a church musician? Simply, the word that sums it up perfectly is ‘community.’

“My first introduction to the Sprankle family was through their community events, especially their Octoberfest. My German club has participated with this event for the past four years.

“I came to learn more about the Sprankle’s Octoberfest, and each of their community events, that not only supports local charities, but they also engage the broader community at large.

“I am continually impressed with the Sprankle family.”

At the core of the mission for Sprankle Markets is the motto, “We can’t do, what we do, without you!” is a further testament to this theme of' community.

“These family-owned markets feed not only our bodies, but also provide community engagement outside the store walls.”

Other events have been Camp Out for Community, Holiday Toy Drive, a Western Themed Festival at Sprankle Woods just to name a few.

At each of these events, Sprankle Markets invite and engage with local nonprofit organizations and school groups to promote their local fundraisers and events. The local impact to these charitable organizations is nearly countless.

“I am looking forward to working with this community market as we think of other ways to continue community engagement, not just at our Saxonburg location, but the other two stores in Kittanning and Leechburg.

“Our stores continue to offer our home delivery for most especially the elders of our community, living at home or retirement communities.”

The market is in the midst of a Customer Reward program that gives back to the customer.

“The next time you are in one of our neighborhood markets, remember, we are here because of you. Come and see us! Thank you.”
