Isabelle M. Zima

Isabelle M. Zima, 85, formerly of Butler, died Friday at Saxony Health Care Center in Saxonburg.

She was born in Luzerne Mines, Indiana County, on Aug. 2, 1922, daughter of the late Kazmier and Elizabeth Petrosky Alesius.

Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Zima had worked as a teller at the Polathania National Bank on the Southside of Pittsburgh. She later was employed at the F.W. Woolworth's Store in Butler for seven years, the Morrison Candy Company in Butler and had been in cafeteria food service at the Butler Junior High School.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Butler, and the St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers organization.

Mrs. Zima was married to Michael J. Zima Sr., whom she married Aug. 4, 1945, and who died Aug. 11, 1981.

She is survived by a son, Michael J. Zima Jr. of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Sharon) Maradei Sr. of Butler and Connie Laughner-Ramirez (Mrs. Michael Ramirez) of Slippery Rock; a brother, Edward Alesius of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Rakoski of Munhall; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five infant brothers and sisters.

<B>ZIMA</B> — Friends of Isabelle A. Zima, who died Nov. 9, 2007, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Butler.St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary at 9:40 a.m. Monday, at the church.Memorial donations can be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 128 N.
