Shed destroyed in Brady Township fire; minor injury reported
BRADY TWP — One resident reportedly suffered some burns on his legs, but was ultimately not hospitalized, after the shed behind his mobile home in the Brady Hills Mobile Home Park caught fire on Thursday, Oct. 31.
The incident was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m., prompting area fire departments to respond.
According to Mike Pflugh, chief of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department, the shed behind the mobile home on Orchid Lane caught fire as the result of a controlled-burning incident.
“We attribute it to a burn pit being burned,” Pflugh said. “The wind blew embers into the shed.”
The burning shed did not spread to the rest of the mobile home, which was attached. According to scanner traffic, a tanker was called to the scene but was pulled back.
Pflugh said that no firefighters were injured while fighting the blaze and the burns to the resident’s legs were minor.
The volunteer fire departments from Unionville, Slippery Rock, Prospect-Franklin Township and West Sunbury responded to the scene, along with Butler Ambulance Service.
