SYLVANIA, Ohio — Chella Choi defeated Ha Na Jang in a one-hole playoff Sunday to win the LPGA Marathon Classic. It was the first career victory for Choi, who has been on the LPGA Tour since 2009. Jang is in her rookie year.

Choi parred the par-5, 532-yard 18th hole at Highland Meadows Golf Club for the win while Jang settled for a bogey.

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Newly unsealed documents in the case of a former college football player charged with violating North Carolina's sports agent law suggest he funneled money to multiple Tar Heels players and set up meetings with agents and financial advisers trying to sign them to contracts.Christopher Hawkins was arrested in May for providing former player Robert Quinn thousands of dollars and helping him sell game-used equipment in 2010, along with improperly contacting a UNC player in 2013 to talk about representation.

CINCINNATI — Hard-throwing Reds reliever Aroldis Chapman set a major league record Sunday for the fastest to reach 500 career strikeouts.The All-Star lefty needed just 292 innings to reach 500 strikeouts. The previous mark was by San Diego's Craig Kimbrel, who got to 500 in his 305th inning on May 25.
