AHN Wexford Hospital unveils mosaic art piece
Hospital leadership from Allegheny Health Network officially unveiled a new, mosaic art piece at AHN Wexford Hospital recently.
Local pediatric patients, as well as community members, were commissioned to create the mosaic, which now hangs in the pediatric care space within the hospital.
The mural’s theme is “Caring for Our Community,” and the artwork has thousands of tiles with personal depictions of family, unity, health and hometown.
When looking at the art from a distance, the individual tiles create a mosaic depicting the hospital with a rainbow in the background and children playing outdoors among various wildlife in the foreground.
AHN Wexford partnered with Project S.N.A.P., a national nonprofit organization that uses art and storytelling to empower people of all ages in order to develop the mural.
