Chicora-East Brady Rotary needs new members
Moving to the Karns City area about 30 years ago, I was asked to join the Rotary Club. After attending a meeting, I realized that there was a strong emphasis on the community within the area I had joined.
I would like to thank all the members who have been involved over the years. Through their efforts the club has:
■ Sent four exchange students to foreign countries.
■ Received more than 20 exchange students at Karns City Area Jr./Sr. High School.
■ Awarded more than $70,000 in scholarships to Karns City graduates.
■ Sponsored more than 20 students to the weeklong Rotary Youth Leadership Award Program.
■ Sponsored more than 10 students to the Rotary Outstanding Vocational Awards Program.
■ Annually donated books to preschool programs in the area.
■ Sponsored many community activities.
These activities, along with those of Rotary International, have benefited the community and the world.
We are now at risk of losing these and other activities as membership has declined. If you, or somebody you know, might be interested in continuing the Club and its activities, please feel free to contact me at: lhenrysupt@hotmail.com or 724-445-7550.
