Nathaniel “Nate” Patrick Mercer, 38, of Kittanning, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024.

Born on June 12, 1986, in Kalamazoo, Mich., he was the son of Richard Guy Mercer and Alane Linette Mercer.

Nate proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman from 2007 to 2014, during which he was stationed in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2008 and Marjah, Afghanistan, in 2010. He then worked as a paramedic with McCandless Franklin Park Ambulance Authority and later as an office manager for Adagio Health. He also worked at C & G Holsters.

Nate was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, as well as competition shooting. He was an avid gun collector. Nate loved riding his motorcycle with the 22-2 Combat Vets Motorcycle Association where he had been the chapter commander. Nate also enjoyed playing card games like rummy with his family. Above all, Nate was an amazing father, uncle, son, brother and friend who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

In addition to his parents, Nate is survived by his son, Ethan; daughter, Amber; brother, Andrew (Brittany) Mercer; nephews, Austin and Landon; and the mother of his children, Sara Mercer.

MERCER — Friends of Nathaniel “Nate” Patrick Mercer, who died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, will be received for visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.

A funeral service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home with Pastor Reid Moon as celebrant.

Nate will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.
