William Flick

Flick

William H. Flick, 82, of Butler, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1942, in Rimersburg, Clarion County, the son of the late Harry D. Flick and Helen L. Bowers.

William married his high school sweetheart, Diana C. Davis, on Nov. 13, 1963. He retired from PennDOT after being employed there for over 35 years. He worked hard for his family and never took anything for himself.

William was the last founding member of the Church of God of Prophecy on Mercer Road, Butler, where he spent years working and helping the church grow. He attended the Bible Training Institute in Cleveland, Tenn., and became an ordained deacon. He never hesitated to tell others of Jesus, up to his last breath he was still a faithful witness to our Lord and Savior. He would be the first one to go and help a stranger in need; his faith in Jesus and his life was a profound example of God’s love. Upon his death, he was a member at the Church of God in Karns City.

William was blessed with many musical talents; he wrote songs and taught himself how to play many instruments which he used in his ministry and work for the church. He loved Skippy, his little dog and friend, and he was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was our confidant and counselor in time of need, always only a phone call away. He was always happy with a sense of humor and laugh like no other. He will surely be dearly missed by all.

The family is forever grateful for the sweet angels who helped care for our father: Pam who stayed by our side faithfully, Kathy and her team, and all of the nurses, doctors and the palliative care team on 3S at Butler Memorial Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana C. Flick; two sisters, Alice and Janet; and a brother, Harold.

Surviving are a brother, James Flick of Butler; two daughters, Billie June Roudebush of Butler and Tammy (Bob) McElroy of Chicora; and a son, Jamie (Dana) Flick of Butler; and six grandchildren, Jackie Roudebush, Jonathan Roudebush, Cody Flick, Breanna Flick, Sarah (Kyle) Brendlinger and Emily (Nate) Gove. Also surviving are four great-granddaughters, Jasmine Roudebush, Jada Roudebush, Evalina Gove and Adley Gove; and many nieces and nephews.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
