State Rep. Stephenie Scialabba, R-12th, won reelection Tuesday, Nov. 5, besting Robert Vigue, the Democratic challenger for the seat, according to unofficial election results.

The unofficial results of the countywide count show Scialabba earned 27,595 votes, or 64.87% of the vote, while Vigue earned a projected 14,873, or 34.96% of the vote, in the district, which includes the townships of Cranberry, Adams and Jackson, along with the boroughs of Zelienople, Harmony, Evans City, Seven Fields, Callery, Mars and Valencia.

Scialabba said Tuesday that she was encouraged by the conversations she had with constituents before the election, saying the interactions indicated she was performing well in representing the people of the district.

“I'm encouraged by the turnout today, speaking with voters all day, they have been very happy with the job I've done, and looking forward to serving again,” Scialabba said. “Thank you for trusting me, and I hope you continue trusting me.”

Of his own campaign, Vigue said he made thousands of phone calls in an effort to reach voters and was able to connect with people on the issues they found important.

“I got a lot of great responses; people recognize me from responses. I'm very happy with the way I pushed it,” Vigue said. “The thing I'm most proud of is my communication with people. I made several thousand phone calls trying to find out what people want and need.”

In the bid for her second term, Scialabba said she wants to continue focusing on privacy and “parental rights” in her spot in the state Legislature.

“I'll be focusing on big things — data privacy, rights for Pennsylvanians,” she said. “My job's not done; there's a lot more to be done and undone to advance the commonwealth and keep things in the right direction.”

The Tuesday race was a rematch of the 2022 contest when Scialabba was first elected to the 12th District. In the 2022 general election, she defeated Vigue by more than 8,000 votes.
