Butler County supports Republican candidates for attorney general, auditor general, treasurer
Unofficial, incomplete results posted to Pennsylvania’s website at midnight Wednesday, Nov. 6, indicated Republican candidates were ahead in the attorney general, auditor general and treasurer races.
At midnight, Republican candidate for attorney general Dave Sunday had received 50.91% of the state’s votes, while Democratic candidate Eugene DePasquale trailed with 46.11% of the vote. Other votes went to Libertarian, Green Party and other third party candidates.
The midnight tally indicated Republican incumbent Tim DeFoor was well ahead of his Democratic opponent, Malcolm Kenyatta, in the race for auditor general. The candidates had 51.45% of the vote and 45.20% of the vote respectively.
Stacy Garrity, the Republican candidate for state treasurer, led in votes, too, at midnight. She received 52.65% of the state’s vote, while her opponent Erin McClelland received 44.91%, as of midnight.
In the Tuesday election, Butler County also supported the Republican candidates.
In the attorney general race, Butler County chose Sunday over DePasquale. Sunday received 77,392 votes, or 65.32% of the vote, besting DePasquale, who received 37,494 votes, or 31.65% of the vote, according to countywide unofficial results.
In the auditor general race, DeFoor won 78,298 votes, or 66.61% of the vote, in Butler County, according to unofficial results. His Democratic opponent, Kenyatta, received 35,283 votes, or 30.01% of the vote.
In the treasurer race, Butler County overwhelming supported Garrity with 79,734 votes, or 67.68% of the vote. McClelland received 35,057 votes, or 29.76% of the vote.
