SAXONBURG— The Oktoberfest celebration to support Glade Run Children’s Services will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St.

There will be an authentic German buffet, roast beef dinners, gift baskets, entertainment and a yodeling contest. Tickets are available at the door.

Recipes sought for cookbookThe Butler Eagle is seeking original family recipe submissions for a holiday contest and cookbook.The cookbook will publish Nov. 15. Deadline to enter is Oct. 24.Recipes will be judged in seven categories: appetizer/miscellaneous, breads, soups, salads, low-fat entries, vegetables, desserts.Finalists will be asked to prepare their dish for judging on Nov. 4. Winners in each category will receive a $500 grocery gift certificate. Second place winners will receive $100 grocery cards, with $50 cards for third place winners.Recipes should be identified by category and include the entrant’s contact information.For information or to submit a recipe, write to Cookbook Contest, Butler Eagle, P.O. Health, wellness fair plannedSAXONBURG — The Southeast Butler County Community Alliances second Community Health and Wellness Fair will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the VFW, 572 Main St., in Saxonburg.
