ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Public Library will hold the following Early Bird Special programs:
• Al Wilson, homeland security planner with Butler County Emergency Services, will speak Saturday about what to do and have prepared in case of emergency.
• "Food and Fun with Joelene" will be held Sept. 5 and include information about food safety, nutrition and cooking for one or two.

The Reality Tour drug awareness program will be held on the following dates:• 6 p.m. Sept. 10, Adams Township Municipal Building, 690 Valencia Road, Mars. Register by Sept. 2.• 6 p.m. Sept. 14, YWCA, 120 W. Cunningham St., Butler. Register by Sept. 4.The program is for youths ages 10 and older, accompanied by a parent. ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Public Library will register for its story hour program the week of Sept. 8. The fall session runs from Sept. 15 to Nov. 17. The program is for children ages 3 to 5; children must be 3 by Sept. 1.Parents have the choice of 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. Tuesdays or 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays. ADAMS TWP — Valencia Presbyterian Church will offer Mommy and Me classes from 10 to 11 a.m. Mondays Sept. 14 to Nov. 23.The class is for children ages 2 to 3 accompanied by an adult. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, relatives and caregivers are all welcome to register and attend.Each session includes active play, creative play, circle time, story time and a snack. FRANKLIN TWP — Visiting Nurses Association is now accepting applications for Family Connections, a one-day camp for children and teens who have lost a loved one. The free camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26 at Camp Lutherlyn in Prospect.Participants will connect with others their own ages while creating memorial crafts and participating in activities, games and a celebration of life ceremony.
