Kirk Anthony Niederriter, 50, of Hilliards, formerly of Fryburg, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at home.

Born June 17, 1974, in Clarion, he was a son of Richard Niederriter and the late Kathleen Cohlhepp Niederriter.

Kirk married the former Tricia Garver on Oct. 10, 2009, and she survives.

He was a 1993 graduate of Cranberry High School and a former member of the St. Michael Church in Fryburg and Parker Allegheny Canby Masonic Lodge 521. He also served in the U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf War.

Kirk worked for Winthrop Construction as a boilermaker. He enjoyed fishing, shooting his bow, nature and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Richard Niederriter of Venus; two sons, Steven Niederriter of Sandy Lake and Derek Niederriter of Hilliards; one daughter, Anna Niederriter of Butler; two nephews, Logan and Bryan of Pittsburgh; and a stepson, Logan Lasher of North Carolina.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kelly Niederriter; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

NIEDERRITER — Family and friends of Kirk Anthony Niederriter, who died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at FALLER/RUPERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 19200 Route 208, Fryburg. The Masonic lodge will hold a service in the funeral home at 6 p.m.

Military honors will be accorded at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home by Clarion American Legion Post No. 066.

Funeral services will immediately follow with Deacon Michael Dittman officiating.
