Harry Norman Sr.

Norman

Harry R. Norman Sr., 75, of Evans City, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at UPMC Passavant Hospital. Harry was a loving husband, devoted father and proud grandfather.

Born Jan. 25, 1949, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Newton and Marie Norman.

After graduating from North Allegheny High School in 1967, he was enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. After leaving the service, Harry spent nearly 30 years working as an auto mechanic, with the majority of those years at Kasing Auto Sales in Harmony. Harry was a very skilled mechanic who many trusted over the years to service their vehicles.

Harry was a member of the Mars VFW Post 7505. He loved spending time outdoors with countless hours spent hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also an avid coin collector and loved sharing his prized possessions with his grandchildren.

Harry took a lot of pride in his role as a grandfather, and his grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy! There is nothing he loved more than going to the ballparks, football stadiums, basketball courts and soccer fields to watch his grandchildren.

Harry leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Carol Hare (Rick) and Harry Jr.; his grandchildren, Harry Norman III, Zachary Hare, Ashley Hare and Annie Norman; several nieces and nephews; and, of course, his two dogs, Beano and Queenie.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Norman, who passed away March 31, 2024; and his five brothers, Newton, George, Kenneth, Robert and William.

NORMAN — Friends of Harry R. Norman Sr., who died Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of the service, with military honors, at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.
